Intentions

For some random reason, I'm noticing a lot about my intentions today.

Did I intend to take today off from work? Yes.
Did I intend to stay in my bathrobe until after noon? No.

Did I intend to go to the gym this morning? Yes.
Did I go? No.

Did I intend for the dogs to track mud all over the carpets I vacuumed last night? No.
Did the dogs track mud all over the carpets I vacuumed last night? Yes.

Did I intend to have all the bed linens washed for our guest that is coming today? Yes.
Did I put my clothes on to wash instead of the bed linens? Yes.

I think that I not only took today off from work - part of my internal moral compass/motivation took the day off too!

I LUV Southwest Airlines

So, I'm pretty sure my blog is going to be full of frivoulous posts -- but maybe every once in a while you'll see something substantial. Today is not that day.

Today, I just need to tell everyone how much I LUV Southwest Airlines. It has been almost 7 years since I have flown on any other airline. Besides their usually amazing prices (today's DING: El Paso, Texas to Ontario, Calfornia ~ $30 each way!), they have amazing customer service.

Rick and I are flying to San Francisco in August for vacation before we head to San Deigo for the annual real estate conference I attend. (Side note: Southwest doesn't fly directly into San Francisco yet-they will in late August-they currently fly to the nearby San Jose and Oakland airports.) With my limited knowledge of the Bay Area, I booked our flights from Austin to San Jose. After I got deeper into the planning of our trip, I realized it would be much more convenient and cost-effective for us to fly into Oakland. I called Southwest, hoping to change our destination, and of course, prepared myself to pay some sort of rebooking fee.
They changed our destination in less than five minutes at no charge!

Again, I LUV Southwest Airlines.

Inaugural Blog

So, I thought I'd truly join the world of blogger. I love to read what other friends and family are up to, so it's probably only fair that I contribute too! :o)

What have Rick and I been up to lately...

Quick synopsis: Rick is just crossed the one year mark of being a being a full-fledged Austin Police Officer. He continues to love his job and never runs out of "stories" from his shift! I ride along with him every now and then and enjoy seeing him at work. (I actually rode with him on June 23rd - is one year anniversary of graduating from the academy!)

I continue to stay busy in Austin's crazy world of real estate. I have some silly stories - but they can't compete with Rick's! I've had my license for nearly 3 years now and really enjoy working with my clients.

Our summer has been pretty busy so far and we have many plans for the next few months! Melanie is getting married in a few short weeks! Our niece Leilani turns one in a few days. We'll be visiting California in August for some business and pleasure. And in October, we'll be in Albuquerque, New Mexico for the balloon festival!

Lots of excitement to look forward to!
